DIY: Chandelier Makeover

Some of you may remember this post in which I showed a budget window nook makeover in my dining room and how I had planned to also re-do the ugly matte gold chandelier that hung in the middle of the room as well. Well, I finally got around to taking pictures of the final product even though it’s been done for over a year now.

All I did was buy a can of matte white spray paint and I took all the bulbs out of the sockets and sprayed the whole thing white. Then I took each of the candle holder pieces and sprayed them each white. After everything dried I took some vintage chandelier crystals that I had laying around and I very carefully  wired each one to the chandelier with thin silver wire that is almost invisible unless you are really looking for it. The whole process took about an hour.

Total cost: $3.50
1 can white spray paint $1.50
vintage crystals  = free (you can find them for around $20 bucks or less on ebay)
thin silver wire $2
