I’ve been seriously inspired by a lot of Venessa Arizaga’s jewelry for a couple of years now. Her pieces are so fun and colorful and they have that perfect balance of tough/quirky/girly all rolled into one. Her jewelry actually reminds me a lot of some of my very first Poison Apple pieces that I sold online back in 2003. I was very much into playful charms and my jewelry had that tough, but girly rock n’ roll vibe back then. I’ve gone through a business name change and my jewelry style has evolved into a more earthy bohemian style since way back then, but I still have a soft spot for that fun quirky gumball style that I started out with and Venessa Arizaga’s jewelry definitely hits that soft spot. Many of her pieces look DIY-able, she achieves her look through the use of crochet and knit techniques but you can get a similar look through braiding or weaving as well. Tomorrow I will be back to show you my DIY project that I just finished using some Venessa Arizaga inspiration. So don’t forget to check back in to see the DIY!
